Candis - Decorative Paints

Perlescente/Prestige is completely water based, averagely transpiring and ecological product, manufactured with a careful selection of raw materials. The paints are available in two different decorative solutions: Perlescente and Prestige.

The decorating process is identical for both paints and involves applying an initial base coat of coloured Fondo primer to the wall, such as Fondo ATF Siena, (light brown), Fondo ATF Livorno (grey), Fondo ATF Arezzo (yellow), Fondo ATF Grosseto (red), Fondo ATF Lucca (blue), Fondo ATF Pisa (green), followed by the application over the primer of a coat of Perlescente or Prestige using an ATF brush. To obtain the best result, the coloured Fondo primer should be applied with a flat brush, roller, or sprayed with a suitable compressor.

Two coats of paint are recommended, the first diluted 20 - 25% with water and the second 15 - 20%. Powdered toners called “Perle di Luce” (Pearls of Light) are employed for Perlescente decorative paint, while liquid toners called “Perle Prestige” (Prestige Pearls) are used for Prestige.

“Perle di Luce” toners (6 different Pearl beads), as well as “Perle Prestige” toners (6 different Prestige Pearl beads), should be employed at the ratio of one toner per 2.5 litre can.

Prior to applying the decorative paint, ensure that the coat of coloured Fondo primer, previously applied to the wall, is completely dry.

A - To obtain the Perlescente decorative effect, decant the “Perla di Luce” of choice into the desired Base Neutra Perlescente (neutral base), as shown in the catalogue (Base Neutra ATF Pisa, Arezzo, Lucca, Siena, Grosseto, Livorno), taking care to manually incorporate the “Perla di Luce” in the neutral base with a spatula and subsequently mixing with a mechanical mixer until the dust has completely dispersed. This operation is important to ensure that the final decorative effect is created with perfection.

B - To obtain the Prestige decorative effect, decant the “Perla Prestige” of choice into the desired Base Neutra Perlescente (neutral base), as shown in the catalogue (Base Neutra ATF Pisa, Arezzo, Lucca, Siena, Grosseto, Livorno). So as not to damage the chemical-physical properties of the product, carefully mix with a spatula or mechanically at low speed, until a completely homogeneous colour is obtained. To attain the decorative effect shown in the catalogue, it is essential that the decorative paints, either Perlescente or Prestige, are applied to the coloured Fondo primers of reference as described above (points A and B).

For example, the Base Neutra ATF Pisa together with “Perle di Luce” or “Perle Prestige” selected from the available assortment, are to be applied to Fondo ATF Pisa. This also applies to all other colours. Using a Candis ATF brush, apply the decorative paint with crosshatched strokes.

It is advisable to proceed without interruptions and to avoid brushing over previously painted areas..
